You simply haven't experienced the epitome of cuddly cuteness until you've seen a scruffy Scottie. Seriously. I used to prefer Mr. K a little on the scruffy side until Scottie Dad came along and made me realize how much easier it was to keep the apartment clean and the shedding to a minimum by taking them in for more regular grooming. Still, every now and then it is fun to see how Heather's and Mr. K's hair can grow! Although, I must admit, Heather's doesn't grow nearly as fast and Mr. K looks like a giant ball of fur by the time Heather even begins to get that scruffy look. And, since it has been a while since I've seen them so scruffy, I decided to gather some of my favorite photos of Heather and Mr. K during their scruffiest times. Enjoy!
I agree! My Pippen is a big fluff ball right now and I am enjoy every furry moment!!
ReplyDeleteThe Producer likes me scruffy too, but it involves more brushing and I don't enjoy that. I look better in full coat though. It's just the pain of brushing out matted hair that I don't enjoy and the tail..... don't get me started on my tail.
ReplyDeleteWhen I weigh it all up - short is good!
Haggis and Lucy McNaughty is having their first Summer cut of the season today! I love it when their coat is a little longer with the little curly wurly bits on their backs, but Summer in South Africa is too hot for scruffy Scotties!
ReplyDeleteShort is sporty, but scruffy is cuddly and makes for "elf feet" which are so adorable!
ReplyDeleteWinston and Fiona came in scruffalovable, and I got a lot of 'what kind of dog is that?' questions from strangers. I trimmed them-thank you google and Scotty calendars!-myself and keeping them trimmed helps allow me to look for ticks and other little nasties a lot easier. Plus I have the excuse of cuddling two 'non lap dogs' for a bit! Winter time, the coat grows. Summer, trimmed. Just gotta in the deep South....
ReplyDeletetyson is super-scruffy now! i just made an appointment for next week-i love him both ways, but i will get less huffs from people when they ask what he is!
ReplyDeleteI like to keep my three scotties with the little bear look .
